It's interesting how "progressives" like Roger only see this "raging beast" on the "far right" or the "far left", but not in their own enlightened and progressives selves, allowing them to indulge their sense of moral superiority.

I don't doubt that most "progressives", including Roger, mean well, but in demonising and suppressing the "raging beast" of human tribalism, instead of seeking to understand and harness it, they are paving the way for the very horrors they fear and desperately want to avoid.

We must learn to live with our tribalism, which I'm sure we can, but only by developing an understanding of it, not as a "raging beast" to be forcefully constrained and suppressed, but as a product of human evolutionary development.

In overreaction to the Nazis having hijacked and abused, for their own evil purposes, the half-baked ideas of social Darwinism, a previous generation of academics made a taboo of applying Darwinian logic to their own species, but this is exactly what we need to do, if we are to develop a realistic understanding of ourselves and the societies we have created (see BLOG).

"There is talk of making the United States great again — read making the United States white again." 

America was founded as a "white nation", by people (the founding fathers) who, were they to return from the grave, would be horrified at Roger's contempt for his own race.

Why such racial self-contempt? they would ask. And I would explain to them that it is an extreme overreaction to the extraordinary evils of Nazism and the Holocaust.

What Roger fails to understand is that the Holocaust itself was an expression of white racial self-hatred, which he, in effect, with his own racial self-denial and self-contempt, is perpetuating.

"Nobody wants refugees."

 In Europe, everyone with any sense does not want large numbers of refugees of different race or ethnicity from our own settling here, because that would be inviting ethnic tensions and conflict for decades, if not centuries, to come. We have enough people of our OWN and enough problems without adding to them.

What Roger and his "progressive" colleagues also fail to understand is the Darwinian nature of our situation, a previous generation of academics having made a taboo of it, again in overreaction to the Nazis, this time for having hijacked the half-baked ideas of social Darwinism and abused them for their own evil purposes.

There is a natural rivalry between different human races, as the full title of Darwin's book On the Origin of Species indicates. One does not have to use this as a justification for racial supremacism, let alone for genocide, as the Nazis did, but going to the opposite extreme of denying its existence, along with that of race itself, is an extremely dumb thing to do.

Roger provides a classic example of good intentions (along with the moral supremacism that often accompanies them) paving the way to hell.

Which is why globalist "progressives" love him, while the nativist, white Right hates him.

It is important to understand this, rather than indulging one's "progressive" sense of self-righteousness and moral superiority, because otherwise it will rip America, and Europe, apart in civil war.

Why would a self-identifying African American like Obama feel sentimental about Europe? Clearly, he identifies emotionally far more with his African heritage, despite enjoying the fruits of centuries of European civilisation, which he seems to take it for granted, like most whites also do.

That he views climate change as a bigger threat than terrorism, reveals his wisdom.

He is a wise African American, who is "unsentimental about Europe", Europeans and European Americans (apart from some white members of his immediate family). He is far more sentimental about Africa, Africans and African Americans.  And why wouldn't or shouldn't he be?

He was the obvious choice of President for African Americans and for white Americans,who have embraced the ideology of racial self-denial and self-contempt prescribed by western academia, initially in overreaction to the evils of Nazism and the Holocaust (as well as those of European imperialism, slavery, Jim Crow and Apartheid), which addresses a sense of racial guilt, but conveniently for the West's white elites, also serves as an instrument of socio-political intimidation and control, just as medieval church ideology once did (see BLOG in which I elaborate).

Roger Cohen takes exception to the suggestion that "the Holocaust [was a] mere “white on white crime.”

There was nothing "mere" about it, but it was indeed, in my view, a “white on white crime", an expression of white racial self-hatred and the insanity of Nazi racial ideology, which divided the closely related peoples of Europe (including European Jews) into different races, which clearly they are not.

Or doesn't Roger like the idea of European Jews and gentiles belonging to the same race? I can't image that he prefers Nazi racial ideology, which saw Jews, as well as Poles and Russians, as a different, inferior race from Germans.

The Nazis saw racial differences where they did not exist, and in OVERREACTION to this and the horrors which followed from it, a previous generation of academics (many of them Jews and thus understandably much more affected by the Holocaust than non-Jews) went to the opposite extreme of denying the importance, even the very existence, of race altogether, even where it clearly does exist, as between people whose ethnic origins are on distant continents, e.g. between blacks and whites.

This understandable overreaction was consolidated into the ideology of post-racial multiculturalism (effectively, the exact but equally extreme and insane opposite of Nazi racial ideology), which now serves the state's age-old strategy of “divide and rule”, dividing society into a morally superior, now supposedly "colour-blind", elite and the morally inferior, naturally (human nature being what it is) less colour-blind, masses, who must submit to the authority of and domination by their "moral superiors".

It is an ideology of white racial self-denial and self-contempt, which, like medieval church ideology, with its concept of "original sin", serves the state as an instrument of socio-political intimidation, rewards, punishments, manipulation and control.

Xenophobia & Prejudice Are Human

Xenophobia is just one side of single coin, on the other side of which is "familophilia", love of the familiar, so why is it demonised as some form of evil?

It's the same with "prejudice". Human beings are inherently prejudiced about everyone and everything, especially race, given our inherent and intense tribal nature, and yet it is demonised as some terrible evil. Why?

It seems to me that both xenophobia and racial prejudice have taken the place of "original sin" (disobedience of divine, i.e. priestly/state authority and thus also a perfectly healthy aspect of human nature) as part of the age-old strategy of “divide and rule”, whereby society is divided into a morally superior, supposedly neither xenophobic nor prejudiced, i.e. "color-blind", elite and the morally inferior, naturally less colour-blind, masses, who must submit to the authority of and domination by their "moral superiors".

This new form of original sin is embedded in the ideology of DIVERSITY and post-racial multiculturalism, which now serves the state and statists as an instrument of socio-political intimidation, rewards, punishments, manipulation and control, just as medieval church ideology once did.

Of course, our xenophobia and prejudices must be controlled in a civilised fashion, just as our sexuality or disobedience of authority must be - but not demonised.

It is surely no coincidence that we are brought up to trivialise, ridicule or demonise our inherent tribal nature, rather than give it the serious attention and study it deserves.

Moral Supremacism of the Liberal Left

"Decency demands that in 2016 Western societies do better in accommodating the millions fleeing the Syrian debacle."

And the 10s, if not 100s, of millions fleeing war and poverty in other parts of the poor world? Does the West have to accommodate all these people too?  

Germany is not defined by its territorial borders alone, but in large degree by the shared ethnic origins and history of its people, who are not Turks or Syrians, who have their OWN ethic origins, history and culture.  

What you are encouraging the creation of, Roger, is a powder keg of ethnic divisions and conflict. And when this powder keg explodes, as eventually it is bound to do, will you take part responsibility?  Of course not. You'll blame the "far right" and "racists" for not accepting your own absurd vision of a global melting pot.  

I don't believe that you mean to do the harm that you are, in encouraging mass immigration into Europe. On the contrary, you clearly mean well. But you know what they say about the way to hell being paved with good intentions . .?  

Like your colleagues on the Editorial Board, you sincerely believe that your attitude to race, multiculturalism and mass immigration is the morally correct one to have, and that anyone opposing it, like myself, is morally inferior, but you are, I believe, mistaken.  

Allow me to explain the method to the madness behind your "morally superior" attitude, which is this: 

Post-racial multicultural society and ideology, on which your morally superior attitude is based, serve the age-old strategy of “divide and rule”, dividing society into a morally superior, now supposedly "colour-blind", elite and the morally inferior, naturally (human nature being what it is) less colour-blind, masses, who must submit to the authority of and domination by their "moral superiors".

P.S. to my submitted comment:

What's in a name? Perhaps nothing. On the other hand, the name Cohen does, I believe, derive from the ancient Hebrew priesthood, which made a profession of its claim to moral authority. 

With moral authority comes POWER, which, as we know, corrupts, leading in this instance to "moral supremacism", which is what I consider your attitude towards mass immigration, race and multiculturalism to be an expression of.

Please, don't take offence, Roger, because that is not my intention. On the contrary, I want us to understand and like each other. When you call someone a "racist", presumably you want the person you are addressing or referring to to recognise their "racial supremacism" and to correct it. In the same way, I want you to recognise your "moral supremacism" and to correct it.

I know, recognising one's own faults is a lot easier said than done, and there is nothing worse than having them pointed out to you in public. So, you are bound to reject my criticism of you, as a "moral supremacist" out of hand, initially and in public, at least. However, if you are the genuine liberal (in the positive sense) I assume your are, you will recognise the need to be open to criticism, no matter how painful it might be. Thus, I ask you not to dismiss my criticism out of hand, but to consider it, in private, in the same spirit of good will that I offer it in.

It makes a nice change to find myself agreeing with Mr Cohen on an issue, as I do on this one.

What would help resolve the conflict between Jews and Arabs is a better understanding of the nature of the state itself, which academics, for reasons of self-interest, have not been entirely honest with us, or themselves, about.

I've developed a far more realistic understanding of the state, based on a human-evolutionary, i.e. Darwinian, perspective, which a previous generation of academics made a taboo of doing.

What such a perspective reveals is that contrary to what is widely believed, there is no such thing as a "nation state", just mercenary "patron states" deceitfully posing as nations, in order to legitimise themselves, their ruling elites and the immense power they wield and abuse.

At first I thought that Israel was perhaps an exception, but have since come to realise that it is not, which gives me added confidence in my theory, which I elaborate on in this and appended BLOGS.

I abhor what IS stands for and its barbarism, but I'm not angry at it, I guess because I don't relate to it or its ideology which is totally alien to me, as is the religion of Islam on which it is based. Mohamed, with his 7th century mindset, would probably approve of their militancy and ruthlessness.

I'm angry with the West's political, media and academic elites who are responsible for the madness of allowing millions of Muslims, and other poor-world immigrants, to settle in an already, natively, overpopulated Europe over the past several decades, by demonising all opposition to it as "racist".

Clearly, I am not the only one who is angry; millions of us are. But the moment we express our angry, we are condemned by our own elites as being "far right nationalists", fascists, "bigots" or "racists", made easy by many making the mistake of directing their anger at the immigrants, which is misplaced and wrong, of course. One can hardly blame them for moving from their poor countries of origin to western Europe, with its wealth, welfare, freedoms and opportunities.

I direct my anger where it belongs, which is at Europe's ruling elites, who, as in America, exploit post-racial multicultural society and ideology to their own economic and/or power-political advantage.

However, most of my anger I have sublimated into developing an understanding this madness, which, of course, there is method to: LINK.

Blinded by your own self-righteous, Roger, but you are the one, it seems to me, doing the "hatemongering".

Many of us - including many UKIP members, I'm sure, although I'm not one of them - are old enough to REMEMBER (we don't have to imagine) what the British way of life was like, before we were reduced to an ethnic minority in large swathes of our major cities my mass immigration, which you think we should have even more of, and "celebrate" as some kind of "enrichment", when in reality is is Orwellian newspeak for native Britons (and white people everywhere) to celebrate our own ethnic displacement (white flight), replacement, and ultimate demise . .

You don't just want to see European Americans (your OWN race, for heaven's sake!) reduced to an ethnic minority in the country they founded and very largely shaped, but also their descendants who chose to remain in Europe reduced to an ethnic minority in their ancestral homeland.

Why? What kind of racial self-hatefulness motivates you. And not just you, of course, all so-called "progressives", it seems. Where does it come from, this racial self-hatred?
